Now 100% Canadian owned, AR Global combines Canada’s leading polling brand with new leadership, new methods and strong commitment to go beyond the “what” of public opinion to the “why” and more importantly the “how”.
AR Global conducts research employing a combination of population-based polling, focus groups and custom online research communities. In this latter area, ARG maintains an ongoing partnership with Vision Critical – the world’s leading provider of insight community software.
AR Global operates separately from our non-profit organization, the Angus Reid Institute (www.angusreid.org). The Institute was launched last fall to support and foster a deeper, better understanding of the Canadian public opinion landscape, and to fill the growing gap between the need for high-quality, publicly available research data.

Dr. Angus Reid
Canada’s best-known and longest-practicing pollster. He’s spent more than four decades asking people what they think and feel about top social, governance and economic issues. From 1979 to 2001, he was CEO of Angus Reid Group, which grew into the largest research firm in Canada. The company was sold to Paris based Ipsos in 2000. In 2003 Reid joined his son Andrew at Vision Critical where they transformed it from a family owned west coast start-up to one of the largest research technology companies in the world.

Mag Burns relationships with international polling partners stems from over 30 years of research experience. She first joined Angus Reid in the early 1980’s. Following the Ipsos acquisition she coordinated global research for Ipsos North America. She retired from Ipsos Operations in 2010 as Senior Vice President of Global Research Services. Now she rejoins the Angus Reid team as a trusted leader in global research.
What’s in a name?
It can be confusing as three organizations bear the ‘Angus Reid’ name.
We have an affiliation with both of these organizations, but each is unique.
Angus Reid Global is Canada’s leader in public opinion research. We conduct research for strategic purposes on behalf of public facing organizations and government agencies .
By contrast, the Angus Reid Institute is a national, not-for-profit, non-partisan public opinion research organization established to enhance and encourage better understanding of issues and trends affecting economic, social, governance, philanthropy, public administration, domestic and foreign policy in Canada and its world. ARI activities are funded through an initial endowment from the Reid family and project-based funding provided by fellow not-for-profit organizations and selected partners in Canada. Angus Reid Forum is Canada’s leading online national research panel. With over 130,000 members the ARF panel provides and depth and diversity to monitor public opinion at a national and regional level. Angus Reid Forum is a Vision Critical division that we employ in our survey research.
